The Mario Kart series has been going strong since the days of the SNES, allowing players to select a character from the famous Nintendo lineup, such as Mario or Donkey Kong and race around in tiny karts on tracks inspired by Nintendo games. Unlike many racing games, however, Mario Kart ensures that everyone can have a good time and stay competitive by handing out items that can speed up a player?s kart when he?s in a bind or even slow down everyone else on the track.
As with the other games in the series, Mario Kart Wii is free from objectionable content and is an enjoyable racing game that is appropriate for the entire family. Aside from the minor violent acts of attacking other racers with items like shells and lightning or running them over, there is no content worth mentioning in the game.
A new Nintendo console means a new version of Mario Kart and we have been waiting for this update for a long time. Mario Kart Wii may not be the best of the series, but it is certainly the most feature rich, and the addition of an online multiplayer mode pushes it to the top of our list of games to play on the Wii. Annoyances aside, Mario Kart Wii packs a lot of enjoyment and who doesn?t want to play Mario Kart with a steering wheel?
