Mission...
Plain Games, Inc. is dedicated to educating content-conscious consumers by equipping them with the information necessary to make informed purchasing decisions that support traditional family values by writing straightforward and honest reviews of games in order to fuel a more positive gaming experience.

About...
Founded in 2001, Plain Games, Inc. provides parents and youth with the tools and information necessary to make wise video game purchases. Plain Games understands the needs of consumers on the internet and works to provide a highly integrated community for content-conscious parents and youth to discuss and explore the electronic game entertainment industry together. With content targeted at all ages, there is literally something for everyone on the Plain Games web site!

Most reviews of video games found in magazines and on the Internet do not take into consideration the content found in video games such as violence and language. Additionally, the current ESRB rating system, displayed on game boxes, does not provide the information that a content-conscious audience desires. To meet this need, Plain Games has exceeded expectations by developing a unique review instrument specifically designed to evaluate the content in video games. Plain Games analyzes the game industry top to bottom and provides relevant content based on past, current, and upcoming trends, equipping readers with the information needed to discern if a video game is suitable for play.

The Plain Games staff has been carefully hand-selected, each member chosen for his or her knowledge of the game entertainment industry. Our journalists analyze games only in their area of knowledge, based on their familiarity of each genre, backed by several years of personal game-playing experience allowing us to incorporate our combined knowledge of the game industry into each review and article.

Plain Games strives to continually meet the needs of our customers. Through our online community, we are able to constantly monitor subjects of interest, and we make it extremely easy for customers to have their questions answered, not just by the experts at Plain Games, but also by other consumers, through our online discussion board.

We pride ourselves in being part of a small, select group front-lining a new approach to media and youth culture in the game entertainment industry. It is our desire that, by providing information on the content in today?s top games, our readers will be better equipped to make informed purchasing decisions.

"I've seen nothing else like it!" - Alex McFarland, Focus on the Family
Stephan Mack is not like many other 18 year olds. He has a desire to have fun while helping others.

Mack has combined his love of video games and his Christian beliefs into a non-profit business. He is one of a dozen people who play video games, and then reviews them from a Christian point of view. Many parents, from all over the country, use his service everyday to learn more about the games their children are playing. Unlike many game reviewers, Mack has values and certain standards that games must meet before writing a review of the game. Mack independently started this business in 2001. He launched a Web site called Plain Games and started reviewing the hot new games and releases that were on the market.

“I took a look to see what games were out there and I wanted people to see what the Christian person thought of them.”

Sharing a passion and love for gaming, the Web site grew and more gamers became interested. The small company, which now has 12 reviewers , helps parents become more knowledgeable on the video games their kids are playing. Parents can learn if these games are teaching their children appropriate lessons.

Mack holds the position as on-line editor of the Web site, and his other helpers are all passionate gamers, too. Mack, who lives in Eighty-Four, enjoys playing strategy and role-playing games. The game he is currently playing is Final Fantasy [XI Online]. “I have a very diverse taste in games. They vary from action to objective [oriented].”

When he is not playing and reviewing games, Mack enjoys playing hockey, biking and [model] railroading. He is very good at repairing and programming computers, and is a professional wedding video producer. Mack says he wants his future to continue in the video game industry.

“After I attend college, I would love to make Christian video games. I also want to work on designing a game magazine for teens and parents to read together.” Mack’s goal is to help teens and practice Christian living in a world that too often features fast paced, violent video adventures.
